Returning and More.

All most a year has passed since I’ve posted here. After some time and consideration, and a nice new quote by G. K. Chesterton about tradition, I’ve concluded that I should recommence blogging here.

Why? Well, other then saying, “Why not?” I will say, “It’s my thoughts of tradition which sparked this continues here at Theory=Dogma. How is one to truly understand—and know where one is going if one doesn’t remember the past and by considering the past, kept it current and vigorous.

Physically, how might this blog be altered I do not know. Addition and subtractions will came as they may, but that will take time.

But I will begin here by listing links you may consider visiting and reading:

“Socialist” (Update)

Here’s something odd:

Shame on McCain and Palin for using an old code word for black

By Lewis Diuguid, Kansas City Star Editorial Page columnist

The "socialist" label that Sen. John McCain and his GOP presidential running mate Sarah Palin are trying to attach to Sen. Barack Obama actually has long and very ugly historical roots.

J. Edgar Hoover, director of the FBI from 1924 to 1972, used the term liberally to describe African Americans who spent their lives fighting for equality.

Now, you may ask, why is it odd?

Simply, no average American would know such an obscure historical factoid—partly because American history isn’t taught with any depth—especially about Hoover’s anti-Communist crusade.

Again, anyone who wants to admit it:  This election is about race, so calls of racism is a standard Democrat weapon, but remember, even the NYT’s says the Democrat party has its racism problem.

“Socialist”

McCain said it about Obama’s tax policies, but the word socialist is finally being attached to Barak Obama—in public.

CONCORD, N.C. — John McCain sharpened his attack on presidential rival Barack Obama's economic proposals Saturday, accusing the Democrat of seeking to turn the United States into a socialist country and convert the IRS into a giant "welfare agency" that would dole out cash at Washington, D.C.'s discretion.

And it’s not a moment too late, or maybe it’s just in time, being that the news cycle is fast, furious and facts are easily under report or simply lost.

Delivering a national radio address before setting out for stops Saturday in North Carolina and Virginia, McCain said Obama's approach "sounded a lot like socialism."

"At least in Europe, the socialist leaders who so admire my opponent are upfront about their objectives," the Republican nominee said. "They use real numbers and honest language. And we should demand equal candor from Sen. Obama. Raising taxes on some in order to give checks to others is not a tax cut. It's just another government giveaway."

People are taken in by the Obama’s aura, but fortunately, the words socialist, socialism, and Europe give off a bad vibe for many Americans.  And for McCain, that may be good thing.

Old Terrorists

Paraphrasing an old saying, do old terrorists die or simply fade away?  Bill Ayes presence in the life of Barak Obama shows that a recalcitrant domestic terrorist does neither.

Bill Ayers, who is he?

Born in 1944, Bill Ayers, along with his wife Bernardine Dohrn, was a 1960s leader of the homegrown terrorist group Weatherman, a Communist-driven splinter faction of Students for a Democratic Society. Characterizing Weatherman as "an American Red Army," Ayers summed up the organization's ideology as follows: "Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, Kill your parents."

Today Ayers is a professor of education and a Senior University Scholar at the University of Illinois. He has also authored a series of books about parenting and educating children, including: A Kind and Just ParentTo Become a TeacherCity KidsCity TeachersTo TeachThe Good Preschool Teacher; Zero Tolerance: Resisting the Drive for Punishment in Our Schools; and Teaching Towards Freedom: Moral Commitment and Ethical Action in the Classroom

In his 2001 screed, Fugitive Days, Ayers recounts his life as a Sixties radical, his tenure as a Weatherman lieutenant, his terrorist campaign across America, and his enduring hatred for for the United States. "What a country," Ayers said in 2001. "It makes me want to puke."

Well, since Ayers has been living and working the unreality of the Ivory Tower sometime, ‘puking’ is probably the only physically productive thing he’s done.  Beyond puking, there is a problem which isn’t getting enough air time and I don’t expect it will, and that is Ayers and Obama are pals.
