The Democrats are ‘reforming’ and attempting to ‘reform’ a number of areas of the U.S. economy, beginning with the auto industry, having a deep hand into the pockets of the American banking system and trying to grab the health care industry as well. Reformers are dangerous, especially when they say they know they are right.
As I write this the unemployment is heading toward 10%. When unemployment actually hits 10% and goes beyond, who will be blame then? Bush? Who will believe that? We are now six months into President Obama’s term with Democrat control of the government; with them frothing at the mouth, mad dog eyes directed at the Supreme Court.
Too many people in this country are hateful and full of fear. Why? What is there to fear, first of all? Loss of a job? Find another one. I did that. How about more education? Try a trade school. We have enough psychologists and teachers and lawyers and …
You want to ease your fears? Turn off the TV for a week, especially the news. Read news instead. Oh, and read only for the factual information, not the commentary. Be skeptical of the opinions of others. Don’t confuse columnists with reporters. Columnists are paid to write their opinion. Most journalists pepper their work with their opinion and skew their reportage with their ideology.
But who does not, you say? Again, I state, “Look for the facts.â€
A fact is a fact. Not all information is a fact. Not the way I see it. For instance, the Earth orbits the Sun. That is a fact, which will not change, and will be true tomorrow.
Information is different in that, for example, the weatherman says, “Tomorrow, it will of rain.†The next, day it doesn’t rain at all. From common experience we all know that information is like that. But facts are not educated guesses.
The quintessential question of the day should always be, “Am I happy?â€
I’m old enough to know, being miserable is easy. Most people are miserable and they don’t like it when other people aren’t. Have you noticed that? You have, if I have. My capacity for ‘noticing’ this behavior can’t be any different than yours.
I once watched a tracker trailer crash into my wife’s car. My daughter was in the back seat. The car was destroyed. The truck didn’t stop, and disappeared into that dark rainy night. Both wife and daughter ultimately were fine with no lasting physical damage.
Now, why should I be unhappy?
