“Going Nuclear”

In the health care debate, just saying, No, hasn’t been enough as the Heritage Foundation reports of impending Democrat skullduggery:

According to an independent analysis of Senate Democrat public statements on the public option, that raises the number of Democrats on record supporting a public option from 47 to 49. Moreover, Sen. Tom Harkin (D-IA), chairmen of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee, told the liberal “Bill Press Radio Show” yesterday that Democrats “comfortably” have the remaining votes to reach 51 and pass a public plan once the debate moves to the House floor.

Going ‘nuclear’ is an option the Democrats are able, and willing, to take to disenfranchise 53% of Americans who find government intrusion into the health care of the American public offense, dictatorial, and wrong.

The Democrat powers have been saying, “What?  I can’t hear or seeing anything, but a swastika waving, hatemongering, racism infested mob.”  From the Left, free speech from peaceful demonstrators must be intimidating, so they’ve had to turn good ol’ fashion American dissenters into club wielding criminals.

In the past, when saying, “No,” hasn’t been enough against government intrusion, the people have pushed back, and should be expected to do so in a democratically principled society.

Americans don’t like to be told what to do, especially by government, and a tipping point has been reached, but that point has been reached in a different and unexpected area of the health care industry.

When the New York State government made the H1N1 or Swine Flue vaccination mandatory, its health care workers objected:

N.Y. Health Care Workers Revolt Over H1N1 Vaccine

The 500, 000 health care workers, who are mandated to receive the serum, this is an issue over individual rights, liberty and their bodies.

Should these health care workers receive the vaccination?  Well, if a reasonable dialog, had been made by a reasonable government to allay fears, the result should’ve been, “Yes,” and the workers probably would’ve assented

But, no, we have a threat from government bureaucracy:

Workers are being told to either get the swine flu vaccine or lose their jobs.

It’s easy for the government to make regulations and policy and say, “You’re fired!”  But what if half a million workers say, “Okay,” and then walk away?  Blaming the health care workers will be so easy, and the MSM media with be right there pointing the incriminating finger.

But the fact of the matter is an intrusive state government has created the potential for serious problems, and if this kind of high-handed and superior behavior moves to the Federal level, the phrase ‘Nuclear Option’ takes on a whole new meaning.
