Compulsory service is a draft. Short and simple, even for the most open-mouthed and beguiled follower of the president must be able, in the minutest flickering moment of consciousness, understand that. But maybe not.
Of course, those who would not be eligible, or have ineligibility slated for them, would be more than happy to draft others for ‘community service.’ What would the ultimately form of this community service be?
The last time there was compulsory service there was a military draft and the Vietnam War. But ‘a rose by any other’ name as the Bard said . . . The Vietnam War was called a “Police Action†and still young men died.
Already there is a word substitution game going on replacing “War on Terror†with "Overseas Contingency Operation." Couple community service with the U.N.’s ‘peacekeeping’ agenda, American sons and daughter could find themselves heavily armed and performing their ‘community service over there.’

This decent is probably not going to go away, and we don’t know if Father John Jenkins, Notre Dame's president, will withdraw the invitation. The President Obama may not get that friendly reception he usually receives, and may receive boos from the brave and irate. But that is where the fun is these days.
Notre Dame Alumni Opposed to Obama's Speech
“The Observer, Notre Dame’s student newspaper, has been hearing from Notre Dame alumni on whether or not Obama should speak at the graduation. Most alumni agree: the University has made a mistake.â€
First, the outcry began with student groups at the university:
Notre Dame students protest as pro-choice President Obama picked to give commencement speech
BY Michael Saul
“President Obama's selection as the keynote speaker at Notre Dame's commencement ceremony this spring has sparked a deluge of protest, with critics citing his pro-choice stance and his decision to funnel federal dollars for stem-cell research.
As of early Wednesday morning, more than 117,000 people have signed a petition to Father John Jenkins, Notre Dame's president, lambasting the decision to invite Obama to the May 17 event.
"It is an outrage and a scandal that 'Our Lady's University,' one of the premier Catholic universities in the United States, would bestow such an honor on President Obama given his clear support for policies and laws that directly contradict fundamental Catholic teachings on life and marriage," the petition begins.â€
The Roman Catholic Church is not amused by having honors to those opposed to the Church’s teachings. A commencement address at a major Catholic university is an honor. There’s no mistaking that. Also, the Church is not abused by those doing the giving. That’s understandable.
Unexpectedly, Senator Bob Casey Jr. withdraws from a speaking engagement at a Catholic college.
Senator Casey Withdraws as Commencement Speaker at St. Vincent’s College
By Deacon Keith Fournier
3/27/2009
“Did Senator Casey decide he did not want to face the flood of protests which would accompany his address?â€
That is a question to definitely consider.
Senator Bob Casey Jr. proclaims his pro-life credentials but fails to vote in a consistent manner to defend the fundamental right to life. He also missed an extraordinary opportunity to undo the injustice done to his father all those years ago at another Democratic Convention, when he spoke at the one in 2008. He failed to do so and many, including this writer, were deeply disappointed.
He has come under increasing criticism as he defends the Administrations indefensible anti-right to life agenda and is regularly rolled out as one of President Obama’s Catholic supporters.
It’s been said before and will be said again, “He’s not his father.â€

Parking Meter Revolt: Frustration Over High Costs
By Jay Levine
Anger over the government’s wasteful spending of tax dollars has been expressed through Tax Tea parties which have been going on all over the country, and Tax Tea parties continue to be planned (Tax Tea party , Tea Party Day, Tax Day Tea Party). They are non-violent, of course, as only slogans, signs and voices have been raised, but there is another kind of protesting bubbling up in Chicago, and there people are breaking things:
Parking Meter Revolt: Frustration Over High Costs
They are taking more of your quarters every day. And Chicagoans are in revolt. While some are saying enough by avoiding them, others are taking out their frustrations on the parking meters - literally! […]
You think eight is enough? How about 12? That's how many quarters buy an hour of parking time in some places now. And its why some people have had enough.
[…]
To the point where some, it appears, are vandalizing the meters. Pictures on Mike's website show meters deliberately smashed, taken apart, spray-painted, or deliberately jammed.
"People suggest taking a quarter, putting some super glue on it, and putting it in the coin slot," Mike said.
That jams the meter and everyone parks for free. Or not at all.
[…]
The meter people have said they hope to get things straightened out by April 10th. Some have suggested a moratorium on tickets until they do. But with the city having given up the proceeds from the meters but still getting the revenue for the tickets, the meter revolt may fall on deaf ears.
How is hope going to straighten out the problem? The meter fees won’t go down, and more liking will be increased, just to pay for new meters. But the city government will get the money one way or another. Straight forward ticketing is fine. But ticketing, or rather the nuisance tax, is just that a nuisance, and some Chicagoans appear to be past that point already. Ticketing maybe the way of ‘getting that money,’ but it’s not a good way of buy time or fix things when the natives are already restless. This is not good. Government has obligations when it comes to the electorate and, at the very least, one is not to harass it, and saddle it with irresponsible financial burdens. And grabbing for more money is not the path to travel.

The assault on Christianity in English is in high gear. Of course that makes sense being such a secularized country, but also what must be added is that this secularization has increased the level of social disorder as well and a correlative increase in social anxiety.
Jesus Christ did warn the Faithful that this would happen and as we know things in life always get worse before they get better. But the question is where is the bottom? How far the drop? Intellectually, speaking the questions are interesting.

Some great Scientists ‘were profoundly believing Christians.’
“Most atheists are unchanged after their children’s births. Why were you so affected?
First, I had already begun thinking about the possibility of God’s existence. After our son’s birth, I wanted to know the truth about life’s great questions — for his sake. For the first time, I was motivated to seek truth with true humility. For example, I began reading, studying, and thinking about the great minds. Most, if not the majority, believed in some other world, some higher power, a god or gods — something. Even the great pre-Christian thinkers like Plato, Aristotle and Socrates believed.
Another avenue of exploration: I always revered the great scientists, including the founders of the significant branches of science. Very few were atheists. Indeed, some of the greatest were profoundly believing Christians.â€

Liberalism isn’t what it used to be, and Cardinal George Pell says so:
The Australian prelate began his address considering two examples of intolerance. The first was the little-publicized reaction to
The cardinal said that religious groups, businesses and individuals that worked toward the amendment have been the victims of pro-homosexual retaliation, ranging from death threats to boycotts to forced resignation from jobs.
He went on to consider as a second example the opposite reaction of human rights groups to what is considered intolerance of Islam.
The prelate said these cases show there is "onesidedness about discrimination and vilification."
"Some secularists seem to like one way streets," he added. "Their intolerance of Christianity seeks to drive it not only from the public square, but even from the provision of education, health care and welfare services to the wider community. Tolerance has come to mean different things for different groups."
Many Americans think and agree with the Australian bishop is saying:
“Affirming that "modern liberalism has strong totalitarian tendencies," the cardinal went on to explain how it is different than "traditional liberalism, which sees the individual and the family and the association as prior to the state, with the latter existing only to fulfill functions that the former require but which are beyond their means to provide."
[…]
Cardinal Pell stated that new trends in using anti-discrimination law and human rights claims to advance the "autonomy project" is not new but that there is a new and "dangerous" trend: the withholding or retrenchment of exemptions for church agencies and conscience provisions for individuals.
The broad effect of this, he said "is to enforce conformity."
What the bishop addressed isn’t new, but it’s a fear that is growing, exponentially. Of course, the mainstream media in American will ignore an Australian bishop’s words, but that doesn’t make the fear go away, but only validates it.

I always cringe when some ignoramus says, “American is a democracy!†It is not, and for good reason. The nation is a republic functioning with democratic principles. There are more reasons not to a have popular vote for president than otherwise. The Electoral College places a presidential candidate in the position where he must be a ‘well-round’ individual to represent the nation as a whole. When a president, like the one in the White House, can insult one portion of the country and ‘romancing’ the other, he only creates and/or perpetuates division.

So, is right wing radio ranting really out? Pres Obama polls at 59%, but Limbaugh must be credible, because 24% is higher then the Democrat Congress.
Again, comparing Limbaugh to the president seems to relieve a problem and the problem is the president picked a fight with a ranting, no count right wing entertainer at 24%. Considering Limbaugh has no governmental power at all, 24% isn’t bad.

I’ve been away from the blogging for sometime, for myriad of reasons. But now, reading the news, being that I don’t watch television, generally, I can see there are a few things I’ll place links to.
One comment I must make is in regards to the economy, there are other people and sites which deal with the subject far better than I can, so I stay away from commenting. All I can say, with some real assurance is the fact that the present administration isn’t doing anything. The economy is crumbling, well, the DOW is dropping, and apparently the president and his cadre like it that way, but it will comeback to get him, because the money he wants to spend is drying up with the economic decline. Accruing debt is not the way to go.
But Pres. Obama is a lawyer, and socialist, economics isn’t really his strong suit, and it shows. The average American is not a socialist, and doesn’t want to be. The Democrats will suffer for it, though it will take years—decades—to fix the damage, and I suspect that the Democrat party will be irreparably damage. So things aren’t all bad.
The question is: How many people want to be beholding to the government? 300 Million plus? Socializing medicine can’t work for the fact that the countries that have don’t have 300 million citizens.
Socialized medicine failed in the
Socialism has failed all over the world, maybe it must fail in the
As I see it, there are three basic groups which believe or espouse socialize;
