Equality among Radicals?

What could be seen as a move to ‘level the playing field,’ by waylaying concerns about ‘right-wing radicals’ being singled out, the Obama administration has made an effort to counter the Homeland Security report on Right-Wing Extremism by making a ‘counteroffer’ by placing Daniel Andreas San Diego at the top of the “Most Wanted Terrorist list.’  San Diego is “wanted on a no-bail arrest warrant accusing him of planting an explosive pipe bomb on Aug. 28 at Chiron Corp, a biotechnology company in Emeryville, and another on Sept. 26 at Shaklee Corp., a Pleasanton firm that makes health, beauty and household products.”  San Diego name is racing through the MSM and the Web like a house a fire and even the Huffington Post seeing the rational:

“The move to add a domestic, left-wing terrorist to the list comes only days after the Obama administration was criticized for internal reports suggesting some military veterans could be susceptible to right-wing extremist recruiters or commit lone acts of violence. That prompted angry reactions from some lawmakers and veterans groups.”

But you see, Daniel Andreas San Diego isn’t a left-wing terrorist fresh off the socialist radical press, he has been on the run for sometime.  Since 2003 that is:  “It is all an effort by federal agents to breathe life into an investigation that has stalled since October, when the 25-year-old Sonoma man disappeared after giving FBI agents the slip.”

You might be considering the idea that naming San Diego as Number 1 as having something to do with ‘equal treatment.’  Bearing in mind, what is one leftist comrade in arms compared to million right-wing radical extremists?  To paraphrase Stalin said one’s a tragedy; a million is a statistic.  Maybe throwing one left-winger under the bus is just a sacrifice that must be made.

“LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- Miss North Carolina Kristen Dalton may have been crowned Miss USA 2009 on Sunday, but on Monday, it was Miss California Carrie Prejean's answer to a question about same-sex marriage from celebrity blogger and pageant judge Perez Hilton that was the night's biggest story.”

Comment:  Being honest, and true to yourself can get you in trouble.

Lillian Gish: Dying for Her Audience

by Robert J. Avrech

“The great twin tragedies of the fate of silent films in the modern era is indifference and ignorance. And for those who have seen clips from silent films, they invariably view muddy, degraded prints projected at the wrong speed, hence the jerky motions that give the impression that all silent films are bad slapstick.”

Are You an "Extremist"?

By Thomas Sowell

“While the rest of us may be worried about violent Mexican drug gangs on our border, or about terrorists who are going to be released from Guantanimo, the Director of Homeland Security is worried about "right-wing extremists."”

Voters are Smarter than Media Thinks

By Clarice Feldman

“Michael Barone, writing for the Washington Examiner, notes that people are smarter than the press thinks they are, noting a recent Pew poll:”

From Tea Parties to Political Parties
By Larrey Anderson

“So nearly half a million Americans finally "took to the streets." Moms pushed baby carriages. Men and women skipped a day of work (some of their kids skipped school). Some entrepreneurs closed down their businesses. Almost half a million Americans had a multitude of tea parties and the mainstream media either ignored them or misrepresented them.  So where does this leave us?”
